WHERE I DO CHARGE
(Structured Judgment for Individual Financial Decision-Making — Not Fiduciary, Not Therapy)
I charge when individuals ask me to help them think clearly through high-stakes financial and career decisions, without managing money, giving legal advice, or directing outcomes.
Examples grounded in my experience:
Helping displaced professionals assess options after job loss before making irreversible financial decisions
Clarifying housing, refinancing, or downsizing decisions for individuals protecting retirement assets
Reviewing financial tradeoffs for people transitioning careers or income sources
Helping individuals understand second- and third-order consequences of debt decisions
Pressure-testing assumptions around timing, risk, and affordability
Helping people avoid panic-driven decisions during financial disruption
Providing structured decision clarity to individuals with savings, severance, or retirement funds
Reviewing scenarios for people deciding whether to wait, act, or restructure
Helping individuals see what they are missing before committing to a financial path
Providing documented decision clarity without touching money or directing action

Critical clarification: I do not manage funds, recommend specific products, or act on behalf of the client. I provide clarity, not execution.
This is advisory judgment, not fiduciary responsibility.
WHERE I DO NOT CHARGE
(Relational, Emotional, or Unstructured Conversations)
I do not charge when conversations are informal, emotional, or exploratory.
Examples:
  • Friends asking for general perspective
  • Emotional processing related to job loss
  • Conversations focused on reassurance rather than decisions
  • Casual financial conversations without defined choices
  • Early brainstorming without commitment or consequences
  • Personal venting or stress relief conversations
  • Conversations resembling counseling or therapy
  • Situations where no action will be taken
  • Informal advice shared without structure or documentation
  • Personal life discussions unrelated to financial decisions

Important clarification: I do not diagnose, counsel, or provide mental health services. I do not enter therapeutic relationships.
ADDITIONAL MONETIZABLE PATH (Within Experience)
Peer-Level Structured Judgment for Loan Officers
I also charge when other loan officers seek structured judgment based on my 30 years of experience.
Examples:
Reviewing complex borrower scenarios
Helping loan officers see risk blind spots
Pressure-testing deal assumptions
Clarifying ethical or compliance-safe decision paths
This is peer advisory judgment, not supervision or licensing.
THE BOUNDARY (Anchor Statement)
Conversation is free.
Structured financial decision clarity is not.
LEGAL & ETHICAL SAFETY (Read This Slowly)
Not a Fiduciary
I am not a fiduciary because I do not control assets
Not a Therapist
I am not a therapist because I do not treat emotions
Not Selling Products
I am not selling products or advice
Client Responsibility
Responsibility for decisions always remains with the individual
I am paid for how I think, not what I sell or manage.
WHY THIS WORK IS PAID
People who have income, severance, or retirement funds are not paying for answers. They are paying to avoid expensive mistakes during uncertainty.
Clarity protects capital.
Clarity has value.
